The CPA and PGTC

CPA – Customary Past Action

-expresses an action used to be done in the past, but o longer in the present.

  1. I used to visit my uncle, but now I don’t.
  2. My classmate and I used to walk together, but now we don’t.
  3. Luis used to borrow my book, but no he doesn’t.
  4. Our teachers used to have seminar, but now they don’t.
  5. Roger used to smoke, but now he doesn’t.

PGTC – Past Going To Construction

-an action intended to be done in the past but one reason or another it did not materialize.

  1. We were going to have a picnic, but we didn’t.
  2. The parents were going to ask some help from the mayor, but they didn’t.
  3. Roger was going to submit is project, but he didn’t.
  4. The children were going to party, but they didn’t.
  5. My father was going to work abroad, but he didn’t.
